PlasmaLift-New Advances in Natural Aesthetic Medicine

In addition to working with patients on chronic disease I love helping patients feel better about their appearance. To me anti-aging medicine means helping people look and feel good on the inside and outside. I strongly believe this can be achieved without the use of injectable poisons and synthetic fillers.

To that end I've recently discovered a new technology that uses super heated plasma gas to erase fine line and wrinkles. The treatment is called a PlasmaLift and is revolutionizing aesthetic medicine. It has been around Europe and South Korea for a while but is now being introduced into the US. In the procedure a handheld devise that generates a "plasma arc" is touched to the skin where it literally vaporizes the tissue. When it is done in a specific pattern it affects a lifting and tightening of the area.

This is not the same plasma that we have in our blood and that is used in PRP procedures. Although the same name, this is plasma as in the 4th state of matter. This plasma is what the sun generates and that is used in industrial welding to melt steel. In a PlasmaLift we use a tiny fraction of that power to vaporize loose skin and make it disappear in a puff of smoke.

Is it painful?
There is a little bit of pain but I use a prescription strength numbing cream on the area being treated before starting the procedure.

What areas can be treated?
Any area of the face or body with loose skin that needs tightening. Works really well on the fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and lips but can also be used on the neck, cheeks and forehead.

What's the downtime?
There is a little bit of swelling that can occur the first 2 days post treatment. After that there is about a week where you will have tiny crusts on your face where the plasma pen was applied. You can use a medical cover up on these areas. The areas are best treated with pure aloe vera gel to allow for optimal healing.
